Beat Cancer Boot Camp is a nationally recognized exercise and support group program to empower and inspire cancer survivors (and EVERYONE!) to take charge of their lives.

Where did the inspiration to bring Beat Cancer Boot Camp to Ohio come from?  Check out:  www.beatcancerbootcamp.com

The Ross County YMCA is providing the physical location for this COMMUNITY PROGRAM.  SOS and the YMCA are proud to have been instrumental in the implementation of the first two medically supervised granted programs for cancer survivors that can be found within a 65-mile radius.  The first, Strength in Motion, was a program for Breast Cancer Survivors and was funded by The Susan G. Komen for the Cure – Columbus Affiliate. The second, Beat Cancer Boot Camp, is open to ALL cancer survivors now - not just breast cancer – AND those who do not have cancer, but just want to be part of an active exercise group become and stay fit.  Anyone can participate, but those suffering from any chronic illness or condition are strongly encouraged.

Beat Cancer Boot Camp hopes for spouses, family members, friends, and anyone who wants to join in the battle against cancer to JOIN THIS CLASS. A key component to each Boot Camp is the supportive environment that will include luncheons, birthday celebrations, lectures, and other adventures (some AWOL) to build the camaraderie of the group.  There will be monthly support groups that will host a variety of topics for both survivors and community members.

A cancer survivor does not have to be a part of the exercise component of Basic Training or the regular BCBC to participate in the monthly support groups or other activities for survivors and their families.  Support Group activities are open to all!  The Healthy Living Support Group is supported by Beat Cancer Boot Camp and meets on the second Monday of each month at 6:30.

Call and sign up today for BCBC!  Classes will be beginning again in September and are free to YMCA members.  There is a nominal charge of $4.00 for non-Y members.
